PG&E has worked with many properties to enhance their sustainability work in an effort to help reduce the carbon impact of venues and events while educating consumers on energy-saving and safety measures they can take.
With Bartram’s support, PG&E has served as the SF Giants lead sustainability partner since 2007, resulting in AT&T Park being the first solar-powered ballpark in the country; the first to feature “green” concession stands; a LEED silver certification for an existing building; nine consecutive Green Glove Awards,(given to MLB’s greenest operation every year); and a Green Glove Tour that takes visitors, fans and PG&E guests on a behind-the-scenes exploration of what makes the ballpark so sustainable.
In addition, this work reaches the community through off-site events that share the ballpark’s greening story and activities with local groups and schools, and through on-site events as youth and their chaperones are given opportunities to experience the greenest ballpark in America.
Bartram has also conducted this sustainability-themed work with a host of other venues and events including the Exploratorium, the California Academy of Science, Outside Lands Music Festival, the California State Fair, the Mill Valley Film Festival and the SF Super Bowl 50 Fan Village.
