As a cancer research organization in the nascent stages of its development, The Canary Foundation worked with Kevin and his colleagues to find a high-profile event platform that would launch their cause and serve as a hub for a network of partners. They sought to make a big splash with an event that could be used to give potential donors and partners access to a unique experience while delivering an economic driver for the City of San Jose.
As a result, Kevin and his team developed a partnership between Canary Enterprises, CHAMP Car and the City of San Jose to develop the San Jose Grand Prix, a major league car race and urban festival in downtown San Jose.
Kevin’s team generated the necessary cash and media sponsorships to make the three-day event a huge success, attracting over 150,000 race fans in its first year. The Canary Foundation enjoyed the high-profile launch of their cause platform, generating millions in new donations and long-term gain from the relationships established hosting the race festival.
